Beastly - Alex Flinn "Beastly" is a retelling of "Beauty & the Beast," set in modern-day NYC. The twist here is that the story's told from the beast's perspective.

I found Flinn's story simplistic, but enjoyed it for what it was -- an easy YA read that I had no problem finishing during a four-hour car trip. I think my problem with it was that everything seemed dragged-and-dropped... it was just too literal a rendition of the story for me, I guess. It was a cute book, though.
