good english

to read makes our speaking English good.
The Bloody Chamber and Other Stories - Angela Carter The Bloody Chamber is chock-full of sex and beasts and not-quite-maidens: the stuff fairy tales are made of. I'm a sucker for a fairy tale, traditional or no, so I ripped right through it.

I didn't notice the repetition of certain phrases until two-thirds of the way through the book. That had to be done on purpose, right? I can't believe I missed it for so long.

Anyway, I liked Carter's writing for the most part. I'll probably look up her other work eventually.
